Making Strides for St. Jude Children’s Hospital – Epsilon Sigma Alpha
Join us for a walk around campus to raise money for the fight against pediatric cancer! There will be free food, live music, and a family from St. Jude Children's Hospital to share their story about their fight against cancer. The organization that has the most participants attending the walk (and/ or raises the most money) will receive a prize!

Lt. Dan Choi-2009 Coming Out Week Keynote Speaker - Allied in Pride and the LGBT Resource Center
On October 12th, Lt. Dan Choi will be addressing the GW community to speak about Don’t Ask Don’t Tell, a US policy that forces American soldiers to lie about their sexual orientation.
Lt. Choi is an army combat veteran of the Iraq war, serving as an infantry officer. Lt. Choi graduated from the US Military Academy is 2003, with degrees in Arabic and environmental engineering.

Student & Alumni Speed Networking Night - Career Center
FOR UNDERGRADUATES ONLY. In networking, timing is critical--it's not just about finding the right opportunity to discuss your skills, but being able to interest someone else in your experience and capabilities in a short amount of time. At the beginning of this event, undergraduate students are given a primer on networking, and receive personal business cards. The students and alumni are then brought together where students have three minutes to engage in a conversation with a GW graduate. Then, students rotate on to a new conversation with another alumnus/a, and so on. The event concludes with a reception for students and alumni to reconnect, and for alumni to provide feedback on students’ networking skills. Business attire required. RSVP REQUIRED: Register through the GWork calendar. Cosponsored with GW Alumni Association.

Come see all of GW's a cappella groups in this annual charity concert sponsored by the GW Troubadours. Groups performing include The Vibes, The Troubadours, Sons of Pitch, The Pitches, The Sirens, and Emocapella. The proceeds will go to Bokamoso Youth, an organization that has helped hundreds of young people in South Africa survive and thrive amidst the poverty, crime and despair of the AIDS epidemic.
